Can I bring a 60g tube of ointment through airport security?

Will TSA allow me to bring a 60 g ointment/cream in my carry-on? It's prescription ointment, so I don't want to bring it then have them chuck it once I get there. I'm only bringing a carry-on and do not want to check in bags since I'm only traveling for a few days. Does anyone have experience with this?
