Can my dentist tell if I smoke?

So I'm 14, and have been smoking at least 3 a day everyday since last August. Yeah, I know. It's horrible. I see it too. I quit weeks ago, thank god. So please don't say anything I already know. I know I made a huge mistake. But anyway, I'm going to the dentist soon, and I was wondering if they would be able to tell if I was a smoker in my past? It's been weeks since my last cigarette. Consciously, I don't smell it in my breath anymore. I know my teeth his yellow, but I could always blame it on coffee or tea. And if they did tell, could they just say, "hmm, do you smoke?" or tell my parents I did, or anything of that sort? I hope I'm getting worried over nothing. Please tell me with full honesty.
